Mount Etna was putting on a smoke show as we sailed towards Sicily.
We stayed in the Porto Rossi marina in Catania for several days while exploring the island. During our stay our vantage of Etna was obscured by high earth walls around the marina, which is too bad, since one night while we were sleeping on Brava, Mount Etna erupted and the lava flowing down the side of the mountain was visible from Catania. We were blissfully, or unfortunately, unaware as we slept on Brava.
