We chose a good day to visit the ruins of Palenque. It was not nearly as hot as it had been for the few days prior, and since there’s no swimming in sight, it’s pretty hard to cool down when it’s sweltering hot outside.

The Palenque ruins are supposed to rival the ruins at Tikal, Guatamala for the best Mayan ruins around. Of course Chichen Itza gets a lot of publicity for the serpent shadow at the Equinox, and they’re great ruins, but Palenque is up there. I’ll let you know about Tikal when I get there… 🙂
