Fort Oranje is the main historical site in Oranjestad, and like everything on Statia, it’s well-maintained. It dates to the 17th-century and overlooks the waterfront from near the center of town. The cliffside fort has a museum, cannons, intact bastions and a courtyard surrounded by a stone and brick wall that the goats hang out on.
