The Witless Bay Ecological Reserve is home to North America’s largest colony of Atlantic puffins. It’s estimated that more than 260,000 mating pairs of Atlantic puffins nest in this island paradise during the summer.

The grassy tufts and wind-scoured trees above the rocky shore are prime nesting grounds for sea birds of all types, including Leach’s storm-petrels, black-legged kittiwakes, common murres, and Atlantic puffins.
