The Library of Parliament is visually stunning both inside and out.
It was spared from being burned on several occasions when there were fires on Parliament Hill, but a former librarian insisted that the library have heavy iron doors installed, and these doors isolated it from the blaze and prevented it from burning to the ground like the rest of the building.
The inside of the library has ornate wood work throughout and is definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Ottawa.
