We were on a pay-what-you-wish walking tour in London with our favourite walking tour company (it rhymes with Sandemans). Our guide cleverly brought us to St James’s Palace to witness the changing of the guard ceremony with a little twist. It’s really busy at Buckingham Palace during the changing of the guard, but much smaller crowds gather to watch the soon-to-be off duty guards as they assemble in Friary Court before ending their shift. We had an uncrowded front row view of the guard procession as they marched in formation up the street and into the court.
