With the arrival escort we received when sailing in to Grand Cayman Island, it only seems fitting that we would be accompanied by a pod of dolphins when we sailed away from the island too, so this guy and a bunch of his friends joined us.
It’s difficult to photograph dolphins when they’re swimming with the boat. They move super quickly and are darting around underwater and breaching in unpredictable places and are often right at the bow where you have to reach out with your camera to capture them. I have hundreds of blurry dolphin photos from the many encounters with them over the years, but only a few that are even remotely in focus.
I’d also like to say that this is my favourite colour ever. It’s impossible for a colour to be more beautiful than the clear blue of deep ocean water being basked in sunlight.
